  • What is a Guild?

    A Guild is a gathering of people that wants to accomplish something as a coordinated group in a massive online multiplayer game.

  • Why a Guild?

    A guild is useful because it gathers and coordinates people so they can focus on a task as a group. Thus as a coordinated group, a guild can pool more in-game resources than individuals can alone and accomplish in-game tasks that are too large or complex for a single individual to solve.

  • What resources can a Guild pool for a common task?

    Things like time, skills, knowledge or assets. Any of those resources a member can contribute for the prosperity of the Corn Mafia Guild and in extension to the prosperity of the guild member.

  • Why are Guilds useful in Cornucopias?

    Cornucopias is a ‘Metaverse’ and can be described as a MMORPG with Web3 functionalities. Thus, the ‘metaverse’ inside Cornucopias will have plenty of instances where a coordinated group such as a guild can reap greater benefits for its members than an individual player can. From simple things like sharing gameplay tricks to complex endeavors like monopolizing in-game production chains.

  • Onboarding process?

    You will be given a temporary “Onboarding” role that gives you access to a form that needs to be filled out. After a review you will be granted a new rank - Associate. The onboarding process is used to check the skill set and desired position of the Corn Mafia Guild recruits. It involves getting selected and filling out a form accessible from a channel available to the Onboarding server role.

  • When onboarding is complete?

    You are granted your first and proper Corn Mafia Guild Rank and also you get a Role inside the Corn Mafia.

  • Ranks? Roles?

    A quick description is:

    Ranks – Is a linear progression towards the top. A higher rank means that the Corn Mafia Guild has faith in you to loyally complete difficult tasks.

    Roles – Different parts of the Corn Mafia Guild that require input from its members, be it administrative, creative, competitive, social or diplomatic. Roles can be given and revoked based on the current focus of the Corn Mafia Guild.

  • What will the Ranks be used for?

    In addition to bragging and flexing rights, ranks are used to staff different positions in the administration and running of the Corn Mafia Guild. Higher ranks will have higher responsibilities. In addition to the executive powers, the highest ranks will have legislative powers, meaning that they will have the power to vote changes in the structure and running of the Corn Mafia Guild.

  • Ranks outside & inside the Mafia?

    Everyone that has not joined the Corn Mafia Guild Discord Server are considered bystanders.

    People that have been brought in the Corn Mafia Guild Server are considered people affiliated with the mafia and called Street Urchin. Only by joining the Server you may start the journey up the ranks of the Corn Mafia Guild.

  • What is the Rank after Street Urchin?

    The Associate rank is the first “proper” rank inside the Corn Mafia Guild. Window shopping for other Guilds is not allowed anymore. The Omerta comes into play. You show loyalty only to the Corn Mafia Guild. You do not share information from the Corn Mafia Guild with bystanders. The only thing the bystanders must know is that the Corn Mafia Guild is great, welcoming and a pillar of society, its methods are a bit occult, but a pillar nonetheless.

  • After Associate?

    After the Associates we find the Soldiers, self-made men and women, that have brought great honor to the Corn Mafia Guild. They are the senior rank among mobsters, there to teach the brash associates the ins and outs of Corn Mafia Guild Life.

  • Anything after?

    Associates as Juniors and Soldiers as Seniors make up the foundation of the Corn Mafia Guild. They are the Mobsters. The life and blood of the Corn Mafia Guild. There are more ranks above them, tasked with administrative and bureaucratic burdens, but we will reveal them in due time. Mystery is fun!

  • What are ROLES?

    The role system is membership in workgroups that have a portfolio inside the Corn Mafia Guild Administration and weekly mandates.

  • What are Roles used for?

    Once you have been onboarded you will be sorted to one of these workgroups based on your skills. Depending on the portfolio of the workgroup and its weekly mandate, you will work together with the members of the workgroup to accomplish the weekly task.

  • Is this permanent?

    Workgroups will be founded, split, merged and shuffled. It all depends on what objectives the Corn Mafia Guild has chosen to focus on.

  • Workgroups?

    Yes, we are still working on them, but we like to call them: Famiglias. Each family has a name, icon, portfolio and weekly mandate.

    Families are organized (work in progress template):

    • Capo di Famiglia (the Team Leader);
    • Secundo Capo di Famiglia (second in command);
    • Members of the family;
    • Bambini di famiglia (the latter are new members to the family that need to be brought up to speed with how things are done within that particular family).
